  Best 4x4 camping experience EVER! Very professional staff! - Big thanks to Melbic for making our 11 day 4.5k trip as smooth as possible!

Everything was top class (way better than any other car rental company... read more we have dealt with) and wow was our car looking great when we picked it up! I almost did not want to drive it because I was so scared I would put a dent or dust it up bad. Levine was very clear and concise with the Dos and Don'ts with the rental car and we did try to adhere to all of it including the speeding limit (good they have a beeper whenever you go over the limit or else I'd be slapped with many speeding tickets). All the camping equipment was nice and well kept - there's no other way to explore Namibia than with a camping 4x4!

Do prepared to get messy with this car as Namibian roads are allllll dust - but the photogenic kind of dust.

It was an unforgettable trip and we did not want to leave! We will be back but in the meantime keep being the awesome car rental company that you are! Highly recommended!

The car, camping equipment & service of Melbic (Which is a small family owned business) was perfect. At the car pick up Willem from Melbic explained everything (by showing us) what we needed to know. From how to put up the tent, to how to change a tyre, to how to use the cooking utilities etc. Since we were not familiar with driving a 4x4 or camping with a rooftop tent this was great. He took his time, it was not rushed, which was nice.
During the trip the car worked perfectly and we didn’t encounter any problems. The camping utilities were in perfect order (from the table, chairs, to the matras & sleeping bags - very comfy - to the flashlights and tools). We didn’t miss anything.
Melbic gave us a booklet with information (ie how to change a tyre) and a phone, to be used when there would be a problem. All in all if something technical would have happened in the middle of nowhere we felt very safe that we would have it fixed.
Returning the car after our trip in Windhoek went smoothly.

First of all, they offered an A1... read more customer service. I had a lot of questions before the trip regarding different matters and all my emails we replied promptly with all the pertinent informations.
Alida the owner welcomed us when we picked up the truck and we checked together all the equipment to make sure everything is fine and got all the explanation to use it. Everything is well organised.
Regarding the truck, we were lucky enough to have an almost brand new Hilux with only 10K on the counter (but all the trucks seem recent and in very good condition). The truck was impeccable and as clean as when it gets out of the dealer.
All the camping equipment was fine, you have everything you need and it is equipped with a second battery for the fridge which is nice to have when you don't have access to electricity on your campsite.
The tires on the truck seemed almost new and with big crampons. We compared with many other rented trucks from other companies and we had by far the best tires. We didn't get any flat and never had to deflate/inflate tires before driving in the sand (Savuti, Sossuvlei, etc).

All in all, we had a wonderful experience with Melbic. We didn't have any suprise charge when we returned the car. We would recommend 100% and would book again with them for sure.

Connected with them around 5 months before and got a decent pricing with discount.... read more Although their prices are competitive, they gain extra advantage on their competitors through their excellent communication and top noth quality of cars. 10 days before our trip, we got an updated invoice with additional discount as their system had shown some additional discount available. If they wanted to, they could have kept the old pricing, but this speaks a lot about their honesty and integrity. The pick up from airport was smooth and hassle free. Our vehicle was ready, polished and washed in absolute perfection, almost looking like a brand new Hilux. The car was just 37k kms done and was spotless. The staff was really helpful and explained the whole working of the car in detail including how to change tyres, how to charge the car in case of failed battery, how to pull in case get stuck etc. The whole process including signing the agreement and inspecting the car roughtly took around 30-45 mins. The driving was pretty awesome and didnt had an issue with the car on any day, including no punctures. We heard from fellow travellers that 1 or 2 punctures are just mandatory when driving in Namibia but thankfully the condition of the tyres was as good as new, so had no trouble. AC worked really well as well as the fridge. Kept our drinks chilled for the entire trip. The drop off was equally well managed and just took 5 mins after wwhich they dropeed us to our destination. If you are looking for a reliable renter with excellent cars, look no further.

My husband unfortunately scraped up the side of the truck a few days in which caused us a lot of stress but Melbic was great when we returned it. They immediately got it in for a repair estimate while we waited at the office and were so unbelievably helpful and patient sending and resending me paperwork for our insurance company.
I'd most definitely rent from them again. Very friendly and helpful company with very nice vehicles.

  Excellent service; very responsive - I highly recommend Melbic Car Hire. We rented from them and they were great.

We experienced a broken windscreen (rock thrown up by vehicle going the other way... read more on a gravel road). We messaged them via WhatsApp and within an hour we had a plan for replacement next morning! Everything went smoothly - their designated repairer collected and returned the vehicle on time and we were back on the road.

We also experienced an unexpected issue when one of the rear cabin locks became seized (due to dusty roads). They were able to organise someone to meet at our next destination and resolve it for us.

I have no experience with other Namibian 4x4 rental companies but I can vouch for Melbic being quick to respond to initial and subsequent emails before we travelled to Namibia, AND they were easy to deal with in person, AND most importantly they were responsive and helpful when we had any issue during our rental.

I would rent from them again without hesitation.
